Volunteering at the Food Allergy Heroes Walk

The FARE Food Allergy Heroes Walk depends on dedicated volunteers like you to help us with all aspects of our walk, from pre-walk planning and recruitment of sponsors, teams, and other volunteers who will help increase fundraising dollars for food allergy research, information, and advocacy to day of event volunteers help the event run smoothly and ensure the walk is a memorable experience for everyone! We depend on people to contribute their valuable time by serving in the following areas:

Committee Leadership

Help FARE raise much-needed funds and spread awareness of our work in one of these ways:

  • Join a local Planning Committee to help secure in kind donations, recruit sponsors and walkers, and plan the day of event activities.
  • Assist with marketing the Food Allergy Heroes Walk event in your community by distributing flyers and posting event information online.
  • Get involved by helping inspire team captains and participants to fundraise!

Day of Event Volunteers

We count on our Day of Event volunteers to ensure a successful Food Allergy Heroes Walk experience. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Registration: Welcome team captains and walkers, help get them registered, and distribute t-shirts, capes, and fundraising prizes.
  • Route Support: Offer assistance and provide support to walkers and cheer and greet walkers as they complete their walk.
  • Set Up and Clean Up: Help us set up and clean up our walk event to provide the best experience for our walkers.
  • Table Monitor: Distribute sponsor samples to our participants, help walkers take pictures at our photo/selfie station, assist children with a craft activity, and more!
